What makes NightDev different from an agency?
I've built and operated my own marketplaces and SaaS products, so you get a founder who understands product, growth, and scaling - not just someone who writes code. You work with me directly, with no account managers in between.
How much does a project cost?
Product builds are a fixed quote, usually $20k-$100k+ depending on scope, agreed after a short discovery call. Retainers start around $2k/month. Fractional CTO engagements start around $5k/month.
What is a retainer and why would I want one?
A retainer is recurring monthly access to ongoing engineering - support, monitoring, fixes, and continuous feature development. It keeps your product improving and makes your costs predictable.
Do you ever work for equity?
Occasionally. For a small number of exceptional founders each year we'll reduce our cash fee in exchange for equity. It's invitation-only and reserved for teams with real traction - cash pays the bills, equity is a bonus.
What's your tech stack?
Nuxt / Vue and Node on the web, Postgres for data, and mobile via web tech (PWA / Capacitor). But we sell outcomes, not stacks - we pick what fits your product.
Do we own the code?
Yes. You own everything - code, design, and content. No lock-in, and we always hand over a clean repository.
Can you take over an existing project?
Often, yes - especially Nuxt / Vue codebases. Send a repo and we'll tell you honestly what's involved.
